Guided Coastal Hikes

Lace up and follow our resident naturalist along the bluffs, where the trail hugs the cliff edge and the tide pools brim with life. Complimentary for every guest.

The Experience

The coastline, up close

Each morning our resident naturalist leads a small group out along the coastal trail that begins at the edge of the resort. You'll walk the bluff tops with the Pacific breaking below, pause at the tide pools to meet anemones and hermit crabs, and learn to read the coastline — the seabirds overhead, the kelp forests offshore, the wildflowers that hold the cliffs together.

It's an easy, unhurried way to start the day, and it's complimentary for resort guests. Because we keep the groups small, spaces do go quickly — tell the assistant which morning suits you and it'll hold your place and suggest the right route for your pace.

FAQ

Good to know

Is the hike really complimentary?
Yes — guided coastal hikes are included for all resort guests at no extra cost. Just reserve a place with the assistant, as group sizes are limited.
How hard is the trail?
Our morning bluff walk is gentle and suitable for most fitness levels, while the longer headland route is more of a workout. The assistant can suggest the right one for you.
What should I bring?
Comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen are all you need — we provide water and walking poles. Tell the assistant if you'd like a pair set aside.
