On the water and along the shore
The coast is the main event, and there's more to it than swimming. Time your day with the tides and the light and the whole shoreline opens up.
- Tide-pool walks: at low tide the rocks reveal starfish, anemones and darting crabs — magic for all ages.
- Kayaking the coves: paddle out for a view of the resort from the water and a good chance of spotting seals.
- Whale watching: grey whales in winter and spring; humpbacks and blue whales through summer.
- A sunset stroll: the simplest ritual of all, and the one guests remember most.
Inland and in town
Turn away from the water and the landscape changes quickly. Rolling hills, vineyards and small-town markets are all within an easy drive.
- Wine country: a short trip inland brings you to family-run vineyards and tasting rooms.
- The farmers' market: the one the locals actually shop at, best in the morning for stone fruit and fresh bread.
- Coastal trails: gentle bluff-top paths with big ocean views and almost no crowds midweek.
Build a day that suits you
